My Parental Figures

I secretly took a photo of these lovebirds yesterday. I enjoyed spending the morning with my Mom. I'm so grateful to her and Bops for all their love and support. I'm very fortunate in the parental figures department. 

When we got home from soccer practice there was a pale grasshopper on our light switch. 

Box

These two still love the washing machine box. They went in there last night and watched shows on Princess' iPad.  

Princess and her class

She gets pulled out so often for speech dyslexia therapy, or sped reading. I'm glad she was able to share in this fun time with her class.

A friend of mine spotted Oldest and his friend at high heaven Friday night. 

First Soccer Game

Caboose had his first soccer game of the season yesterday. His Bops and Gee were here, so he was super excited to have them watch. 

Worn out Wednesday

These two fell asleep yesterday after school. 

Ready

Oldest was ready to play at the eighth grade football game yesterday. We had to pick up Princess from dance on our way to the game. 

Salon and soccer

While Caboose had soccer practice, Princess and I played with each other's hair. Princess wanted pictures, so we took pictures. I love the blonde and red streaks in Princess' hair. 

Friend filled weekend

Caboose and Princess had friends over Friday, then Caboose went to a friends house on Saturday, and Princess had a friend over Sunday afternoon. 

Toys!

Sometimes I gather toys and hide them awhile. Then, I'll pull them back out and it's like new toys for the kids. I pulled out a Lego box after Sunday school, and these two were very happy kids. 

Lunch dates

They decided to be silly when I snapped their photo. 

School days

Oldest spends more time putting his shoes on than anything else when he gets ready for school. 

He's a half a head taller than me now, too. 

Soccer Practice

Caboose was happily at soccer practice with his own new cleats and shin guards, instead of his usual hand me downs from Oldest. 

Slingshot

Caboose found a stick outside that he thought would make the perfect slingshot. With a little help from Mr CopperCoin, his vision came to life. 

Big Spider

We had a huge spider in the living room the other day. I'm sure the neighborhood heard me scream as I pulverized it while Princess and Caboose cheered me on. 

I did take a picture before pulverizing, and Caboose said, "no pictures, just kill that monster already!"

Wild child

We took Oldest to dentist after school yesterday.  Caboose was tired and acted bonkers in the waiting room. 

Then we had soccer practice. There was a meltdown over soccer cleats, so obviously he fell asleep on the way-

King of the backyard

Maca was checking out the hummingbirds the other day. 

Tuckered out Tuesday

Caboose came home from school yesterday and said, "today was rough, I had a star test, a kid threw up and it was corny and brown like pancakes. It was hot on the bus. Being a kid is hard."

He fell asleep shortly after school. 

Oldest had his first eighth grade football game to play trombone.

Shortly after we got home, Oldest fell asleep. 

He's back

This silly boy is excited to go back to school today. He wanted to see his doctors excuse last night and reminded me to put it in his folder this morning .

Feeling Better

Caboose is feeling better than he has in over a week. His fever doesn't spike at night and his coughing is getting less and less. He only complains of his ears feeling funny, and he's a little ornery. 

Cookie Cats

Princess loves the game "Cookie Cats" that Bops told her about. 

Caboose is still coughing like crazy, so the doctor gave him a different antibiotic and prescription cough medicine. I hope it helps. He's missed school all week. His dirty little boy feet: 

Still sick

Poor Caboose is still not feeling well. I'm going to call the doctor for a prescription cough medicine since the over the counter stuff doesn't seem to help.
