Weekend crafts

Princess and Caboose made Pom Pom critters and shrinky dinks over the weekend.

Holding On

Caboose reminded me of his baby self when he was in the bath last night. He told me he was a scientist, and had to give himself a shot. I remember when Oldest played scientist. I thought about how Caboose is our last "baby." The last child to play bathtub science, the last one that tells me he loves me a thousand times a day, and the last one to want hugs and kisses. While there are quite a few perks to having an Older child, sometimes I can't help but reminisce.

Pink Eye

Poor Princess has pink eye. She looks so pitiful.

However, she feels alright. She and Caboose decked themselves out to Zombie hunt...

And yes, they have worn the same thing all weekend. It's not worth the battle. I'm not into fancy pajamas. I'm just grateful for them to sleep. They'll bathe tonight and smell fresh enough for school in the morning.

Sleepy Princess

Princess was so tired last night she didn't seem to mind that Oldest used her back as an iPad prop.

Of Zombies and Forts

The kids fought zombies from their "forts" after school today.

Caboose said all the girls at school chased him and tried to kiss him. He said, "and I told them the only girl that can kiss me is my Mama!"  I think he's going to have this problem all his life, he's so adorable.

Watercolor

Princess wanted to do a "craft."  I found an old art book with a different take on ordinary water coloring. First, you paint thick paper with water, then paint with watercolors. Next, you sprinkle rubbing alcohol on top.  Finally, you put salt on top.  We used rock salt. Princess loved it, and made three. Caboose made one, and we were able to do this outside on a gorgeous day.

Here is one with salt, waiting to dry.

Finished paintings.

School Valentines

I printed the kids' Valentines from the internet. The boys wanted Minecraft, and Princess wanted Frozen. I didn't see any in the stores, so we improvised.

The plastic mailboxes are filled with Reese's cups and are for the teachers.

Sleepy Heads

With this being our third day of dark, cold, rainy weather, it's begun to take its toll....

This is what the kids looked like this morning after "waking up."

Shots

Caboose had his five year old shots yesterday, despite his escape attempt. He drew me a picture and said it's called, "why did you do this to me Mom?"

Lego

These two saw the Lego movie. It was Oldest's friends's birthday weekend.

Mailboxes are back

The kids' valentine mailboxes are back for another year. Princess asked me to put them up a month ago, but I can only keep it up a couple weeks. It has gotten more difficult to fill Oldest's with things he likes. He is his Daddy's child.  Consequently, I've put more candy in there this year, much to Caboose's delight.

Frozen Sing Along

Princess sang her heart out, she knows all the songs. Her friend had not seen it yet, but seemed to enjoy it even if all the girls were singing.
